Students who prefer this learning, undoubtedly enjoy the family and comfort of home, but on the other hand remain isolated from the classroom atmosphere. It is believed and proved in many cases that classroom learning is of the most benefit where students learn the most. Most of the people agree to this and that’s why many students studying at home don’t get the grades, level of learning with the essential skills that develop in the students who have studied in classrooms. Their are many examples of the cases that contribute to this situation, for example; they lack enough discipline to complete their course work on time.

Students should be skillful and more up-to-date with the technology before choosing this type of learning. So, if you are not computer user and afraid of new technologies would mean great difficulty probably ahead for you.

Those who always need a push or are a procrastinator would not make distance learning to your benefit, rather a big mistake. You may get hard time being up-to-date with our course, assignments, online classes and exams. The end result for theses type of people is leaving the course half way and wasting their precious time.

Indirect Contact with Professors/friends

Students greatly value the physical contact with their teachers and those who are in the phase of distance learning do even more. This is because teachers are not mere facts and figures dispensing machines but are professional who make the study even more comprehensive and learnable. The personal experience that a teacher adds in the form of their valuable guidance, motivation & encouragement lessons are of great of value and no match.

As there are no friends, that means there is less/no interaction via emails, messages, calls, parties, discussions and get-together. The course makes face-to-face interaction with students and teachers of the subject you are studying almost impossible.

Very little/No support is provided for these type of students as they are not directly linked to any institution. The rather loose ‘link’ is merely of very little value as these students don’t enjoy those facilities when compared to those on-campus. Lack of the ‘College Spirit’ and Campus atmosphere.

All of Us (including me) dream about the university life and that more than just class room experience. Distance learning, however, doesn’t let you get the this amazing  experience. The on-campus atmosphere we hear from our elders, watch in movies and our own thoughts about it are not fulfilled. The beauty of the campus , the college experience for some value the most and for some mean nothing in front of their home and family.

Limited Course Options

The on-campus courses usually have large range of endless courses but unfortunately , not for distance learning. Although the variety of accredited courses is increasing but many cases have been reportedly seen not fulfilling their request. This is because all of the things can not happen in home and require in-class work for experiments and practicals, etc.

END NOTE

Distance Learning is the right choice for the person, who has a habit to work according to plans and schedules. The person should also be the one who likes to work on his own and does the work on/before time.

On the other hand, people who are social and spent/waste their most of the time with their friends and can not learn until there is any kind of face-to-face interaction. Moreover, if the person is lazy then regular learning is a better option for you.
